Here at WriteMind we believe writing is in everyone and for everyone.
Our story starts with a name marked on our birth certificate. The end of our travel through life is marked by speeches, prayers, stories of shared memories.
And throughout all the chapters in between, we write when we send birthday cards, when we tell goodnight stories, when we make shopping lists, when we swap neighbourhood news in the post office queue, when we share jokes with friends on a group text.
Writing helps us make sense of our secrets and share our deepest thoughts. It helps us shine a light on our hopes and bring our fears out of the dark. It helps us celebrate moments of joy and offer comfort and consolation during times of sadness. It helps us explain where we’re from and explore where we’re going.
Writing for wellbeing is not a form of therapy, but it can be therapeutic, helping you focus on who you are and how you are feeling. Being gently guided through simple ways of putting pen to paper can create a space for you to be listened to, where you can express and explore your emotions.
